This is a recipe that combines flavors of pink grapefruit, watermelon, beets, ginger, and aloe vera gel. Not only is the flavor amazing, with great paring, but it pink! Who doesn't like like pink?

A beautiful , girly juice.
Yes, I think this juice just screams "add me to the brunch menu with the girls". And I did just that! Not only did the flavor, but the color of the juice received many compliment.
Anyway.
I enjoyed making this juice, but will admit there were a lot of steps to do and think about. One in particular is straining the watermelon. Although it wasn't bad, its just something I recommend prepping ahead of time. Have that fresh and already sieved watermelon juice on hand so all you have to do it just add it in.
What You Will Need
Ingredients:
- 1 medium pink grapefruit, peeled and segmented
- 2 cups of watermelon, cubed and deseeded (if you can)
- 1 medium beet, peeled and chopped
- 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled
- 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel ( needs to be food grade)
- Optional: A teaspoon of honey or squeezed lime for additional flavor
Equipment:
- A juicer ( preferred) or blender. I use the Breville Juicer.
- A fine-mesh strainer ( if using a blender)
- A cutting board and knife
- A measuring spoon
- A glass or pitcher for serving
- Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh produce will give you the best flavor.
- Adjust to Taste: This is the fun part! You get to adjust to what your taste buds desire. Tweak the grapefruit and ginger amounts if you prefer a milder or zestier flavor.
- Chill Before Serving: I don't know why, but juice taste more refreshing when you chill your ingredients beforehand or served over ice.
- Drink Immediately: Fresh juice is best enjoyed right after making to retain nutrients.
- Ensure Your Aloe Vera Gel is Food Grade: Raw aloe vera gel straight from the plant isn't always food grade. If using fresh aloe vera, carefully remove the outer green skin and yellowish latex layer underneath, then rinse the clear gel thoroughly. For convenience and safety, go for the store-bought, food grade aloe vera gel.
Can I store this juice?
It's best to drink fresh juice immediately, but if you need to store it, use an alright container and refrigerate it for up to 24 hours. Shake well before drinking.
Can I skip the aloe vera gel?
Yes, you can leave it out if your don't have it on hand. However, aloe vera adds a unique touch and texture of hydration and supports digestion.
Can I use a different sweetener?
Absolutely! I have tried maple syrup, agave, even a dates can be used to sweeten the juice naturally.
What are the health benefits of this juice?
I don't want to sound like a science book, but this juice is full of antioxidants, vitamin C, and hydration. Grapefruit supports your immune system, watermelon keeps you hydrated, beets promote healthy blood flow, ginger aids digestion, and aloe vera soothes and hydrates the body.
Will the aloe vera gel make my juice bitter?
If you use food-grade aloe vera gel, it should not make your juice bitter. High-quality aloe vera gel has a neutral taste and blends well with other ingredients. However, if your aloe vera gel has a slightly bitter flavor, you can balance with some honey or lime juice.
Now it's your turn to create this vibrant and refreshing juice. Let me know in the comments how it turned out for you! Was it sweet? Was it bitter?
