When I first started adding healthy homemade juices to my daily routine, I was looking for somthing that could kill my apetite to keep me from eating mindlessly throughout the day. Have you ever had those days? Yeah, I have them quite often, but drinking wholesome and delicious juices really helped to curve those cravings at the time.
One of those juices was the, what I now call, the Green Glow Elixir. The ingrediengts you see in the photo are very simple and easy to juice. There were little adjustments with the ginger, but it all turned out perfect. It was simply, grab-and-go from there.
This juice is packed with vitamins and things that helped me get through my cravings like I said before and it also helped with my skin. This is the point I want to talk about next.

Ingredients
10 Large Cucumbers
10-15 Apples
1 bag of Spinach
1 Head of Purple Cabbage
2 Whole Ginger
Directions
- Wash all produce
- Slice apples and cabbage. Depending on your juicer, you may need to cut the cucumbers.
- Add cucumbers, apples, spinach, and cabbage to taste.
- Add ginger. ( be sure to break into pieces)
Notes
- For the ginger, the more you add the spicier it will be. A thumb of ginger is more than enough. Also, the purple of the cabbage will change in color with the other ingredients.
Why the Green Glow Elixir?
The Green Glow Elixir is what i call it because I had noticed a significant difference in my skin. From the look of it to the texture, my skin was literally glowing! I was amazed and my confidence showed it too. As I get older, my skin has started to get blemishes and pimples around the chin and on other random places on my face.
I had never had acne growing up in my teens and twenties. When I turned 30 thats when hormonal changes started and my skin was affected. I beleive the ingredient that helped my skin the most were the cucumbers.

- Go organic if possible: I say this with every recipe, but they really do have the best flavors and you will not worry about pesticides.
- Try drinking it on an empty stomach: You will enjoy the taste more and the nutrient absorption will be more efficient.
- Don’t be afraid to experiment!: Don’t care for cabbage? Try adding celery. Need it to be sweeter? Add more apples! Not a fan of ginger? Try turmeric instead.
